Power-Ponies Review

Hi!
It's time for the MANE event of the evening- the review. Puns. I hate those.
And sorry for being so late with it!
-Summary-
Spike is reading his comic late at night, and wakes up Twilight. The next morning, Twilight and her friends clean up Celestia and Luna's old castle.  Spike wishes to pitch in, but the ponies decline. Twilight tells him to find someplace quiet to read his comic, and Spike shuffles off, feeling useless.
In a few words (I'm really tired of these long summaries) - they get sucked into the comic, which is kinda magic, find themselves in MAREtropolis with awesome super-powers, defeat the villain to return back home.
Ponies and their other SuperNames:
ApplejackMistress Mare-velous - Has a lasso that she can psychically control, and also makes use of restraining horseshoes called "hoofarangs"
Fluttershy - Saddle Rager - Can turn into a hulking monster with tremendous strength when she gets angry
Pinkie PieFili-Second - The "fastest pony in all of Maretropolis"; can run a distance of miles in mere seconds
Rainbow DashZapp - Can control the forces of nature through her lightning bolt necklace
Rarity - Radiance -  Can create energy constructs with her jewelry
SpikeHumdrum - nothing   >:D
Twilight SparkleMasked Matter-Horn - Can generate energy beams with a variety of uses from her horn, such as energy blasts and freeze rays

-Villain-
Lets meet the villain- the Mane-iac
Originally she was the owner of a shampoo company, and one faithful day she fell into some mysterious green liquid and got electrocuted. The accident gave her super-natural powers  and caused her to go insane.
She then decided to steal some magical electro-orb, which she will use to power her evil weapon- Hairspray Ray of Doom (it actually is just an over-sized hairdryer).
She gets struck by her own weapon, and as the result her mane goes crazy and tangles her up.
Why didn't she think that through?!
-Personal Opinion-
This episode wasn't very bedazzling, but hey, mane 6 as superheroes? And lots of cool references?  It can't be bad!
Now for the stuff I pointed out:
- So many superhero references.  How could this be an MLP episode without references?
- Why did the ponies go and fix the castle? Can't Celestia send a royal cleaning team or something? I've got a feeling that in the process of cleaning they will find some clues about that box.
- Their costumes as the Power Ponies are pretty cool. And so are their powers.  If I could choose, I would have Rarity's or Twi's powers.
- Speaking of Twi's powers- can't she do that anyway? If she was human it would be kinda awesome - shoot energy beams and stuff, but she's a Unicorn Alicorn, aren't energy beams kinda common with them?
- Is it just me, or there have been a lot of puns lately? Castle-MANE-ia; the MANE-iac; Mistress MARE-velous? PLS STHAP!
- At first I didn't like Spike, but with every episode i fell more sorry for him. Poor guy, even in a magic superhero world he turned out to be a simple sidekick.
- Did anyone notice a lot of identical henchponies? even their Cutie-Marks are the same!
-Overview-
The new season haven't "wowed" me yet.
But the episode was nice. One thing that disappointed me was the shallowness of the villain.
8 out of 10
