Wasn't that a nice episode? Why don't we look it through?
-Summary-
So Rarity is picked as the whatchamacallit for that thingamajig (I'm too lazy to look up how they were called D: ) and she gets to organize it.
She has a lot planned for it, but she assigns most of the work to her pony-friends and decides concentrate on winning the heart of the greatest hipster in pony history - Trenderhoof.
creeeepyyyy...
even his cutie mark is hipsterish!
Back on track.
So Rarity meets "Trend" and shows him around Ponyville. When they stop at Sweet Apple Acres he sees Apple Jack - the pony of his dreams.
Rarity is all like: WHY U NO NOTICE ME TREND? So she decides not to win him over with her heart and soul, but by TURNING INTO AJ!

Country Rarity 1.0
Country Rarity 2.0
She changes her mane, clothes and her accent (I'll speak about that later!)
To show Rarity how she's acting, AJ decides to TURN INTO RARITY!! Wow, what next? Twi turning into Pinkie?!
Trend understands that and goes to hit on Granny Smith. Yep.
They all have a sweet time at that party and stuff. The episode ends with Rarity's epic monologue about how awesome she is.
There was no songs in this episode, but I noticed something that made me happy. Background music. The amount of it was good. Perfect I'd say. There was not too much and not too little. That made me very happy!
-Personal Opinion-
Ah, finally I can ramble on.
Firstly, I love the development of the show and characters I see throughout the years. Lets talk about Rarity.
At the beginning, Season 1 Episode, all we saw a Rarity who was afraid of mud, always fashionable, speaking with her fancy accent, but nothing else. Now, on the other hand, we see a Rarity who is brave, and will do anything to help out her friends. She even put on dirty clothes, gave up her fancy mane and lifestyle to feel appreciated by Trenderhoof. THAT is character growth.
Now lets talk about the show, overall.
Remember, back in the old times, the show was a bit one-sided (in the best way possible!). Every episode concentrated on friendship, and it is now, but differently. For example, this episode didn't have a friendship problem, it had a personal problem. If you think about it, lately most episodes have personal problems! That really amazes me, the show is called FRIENDSHIP is magic. And friendship is not only about the way you interact with others, but also the way you treat and see yourself! This is why I love this show.
Secondly, didn't you think that the way Rarity quickly changed her accent was suspicious? Well here is what I think- Rarity grew up in Ponyville - the town which was founded by farmponies. Her parents didn't have a country accent in Sisterhooves Social as far as I remember, but I think that Rarity had a different accent when she was a filly (younger then when she was in Cutie Mark Chronicles), but later on she became more sophisticated, stated designing and gained an accent by studying I guess.
My point is that Rarity has a farmpony in her, she's just wearing a fashionable mask- a mask of sophistication, and this time she set that long-forgotten self free and used it as a way of winning over Trend's heart.
This applies to AJ too. She changed into her "trendsetting fashionista" image really fast! It was confirmed that she lived in Manehattan, so maybe she learned something about fashion and manners there. I think that adds some depth to them!
Oh, and I noticed something interesting, look:
What if he was an earth pony before, but then just got a horn to be fancier of something? Or it's just the poster...
Speaking of Trend, in the episode it was said that he's a traveling author, judging by his look and about what he wrote it seems to me that he's some sort of hip blogger.
Now THAT'S something new!
I really like this episode, it was different. We don't such stuff often. Seriously, it was like the 4th time. Come to think of it, Rarity had the most romantic interests... Well, I think it adds a bit more... ugh... fun..? to the show!
-Overview-
Sweet episode. 10 out of 10
Have a nice day/night guys!
I.. ugh.. honestly don't know
Anyway, Rarity sees what a dodo she was and changes back to her former self. She explains Trend why AJ is creeped out by him, and she does that in a very "oh snap!" fashion.Trend understands that and goes to hit on Granny Smith. Yep.
